What Does Plant Eat?

Producing their own nourishment is what gives plants their name, ″producers,″ and is the reason why they are named that. Their leaves are responsible for the absorption of a gas known as carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air, while their roots draw water and minerals up from the soil. They do this by utilizing the energy from the sun to transform these components into food.
